UPCOMING CONCERTS
Black Dog Records announces the release of Warm Winter Night from Neil Woodward,
Michigans Troubadour. Several concerts are scheduled to introduce
the new CD to local audiences.
Warm Winter Night, recorded live at The Ark in Ann Arbor 21 January 2007,
features original performances by Neil Woodward with special guest artists
Gary Weisenburg, bassist; Sheila Graziano, stepdancer; Will Young, actor;
and Neils fiery young protégés Cats and the Fiddler,
a family bluegrass trio.
The 2008 Ark Warm Winter Night concert with Neil Woodward, Michigans
Troubadour and special guests Cats and the Fiddler is Thursday 31 January

Friday 1 February 2008, 8:00 P.M. the Livingston Arts Council presents the
Livingston Acoustic Café featuring Neil Woodward, Michigans
Troubadour at the historic Howell Opera House. Proceeds will benefit the
ongoing restoration of this community treasure at the corner of Grand River
and Walnut Street. This show will introduce the Warm Winter Night recording
to Livingston County audiences. Historic Howell Opera House, 123 West Grand

Neil Woodward has performed Winter concerts at The Ark for most of the past
thirty seasons, presenting his original compositions and evocative antiquities
from Great Lakes and North American folklore. Guests have included well
known Michigan artists Peter Madcat Ruth, Kitty Donohoe, Josh White Jr.,
Matt Watroba, Mustards Retreat and master fiddler Paul Winder, among
others. Since 2004, the shows have opened up with a set by Cats and the
Fiddler, starting when the band members were all nine years old. These evenings
have become a family tradition for audiences and the performers, offering
an update each year on the past, present and future of traditional American
music. Warm Winter Night includes selections from the opening set, as well
as pieces with the full ensemble.
